On Jamal Adams:
He runs a 4.33 40 YD…..he’s FAST, and extremely adaptable and can therefore play nearly any position on the field…that doesn’t mean he doesn’t cover, in fact the reason why people believe he doesn’t cover is because when you shut receivers down in coverage, it never makes the headlines or high light reels.
Smart QBs don’t throw to Receivers who don’t have a chance to catch the ball…Adams is so GOOD in coverage, this is what he does to QB decision making.
Therefore, what people SEE is his sacks and blitz but ONLY BECAUSE he’s the BEST at it.
If you don’t think other teams try to blitz their safeties (and corners) then you haven’t been watching football for very long.
Adams is just the best at it.
I played WR and CB in high school, and once in a blue moon, the coach would use a sign from the sidelines to tell me to blitz the QB if there was no WR to cover on my side..…it happens all the time (as long as you don’t lose Contain, but let’s not get into that).
Lastly, there is no such thing as a “box Safety”, certainly not as an actual position…nor does he play Linebacker (nor would he be better at it than he is at Strong Safety)…whether he’s playing (or just lining up in) the box or not is a LOOK in football, not an actual position…and ALL TEAMS DO IT…it could be real, or it could be a decoy to freak the offense out.
Myths are generated AND propagated by the MEDIA because they GET THE RATINGS.
But time and time again, the actual statistical DATA of just about ANY storyline PROVES that the media LIES for PROFITS.
Why do they do it? ….because people BELIEVE it, silly.
This ridiculous notion that people actually believe about Jamal Adams sucking, including many Seahawk fans even, is not real, and is literally the exact opposite of the truth…it is just media propagated myth served up for people who don’t understand the depths of the game.
I mean no offense to anyone…some of us have strapped on a helmet before, but most fans haven’t…that is also a fact.
Update (2 hours later): Let’s look at the final Jamal Adams trade details, as it seems many people seem to keep finding more excuses to hate Jamal Adams….as it turns out, we’re looking pretty damn good on that one too.
We’ll see.
