Not sure who has seen this yet (Seahawks opponents next year) but one of the best benefits of being last in the division is that you have an easy schedule going into the following year…with an easy schedule, you can rest guys more, leave more room for injured players to get healthy, etc. We will play rebuild(ing) Jets, Lions, Giants, and who aside from a Salary Cap stretched Chiefs and an uppity LA Chargers team, are left with the Raiders and Broncos, both huge question marks with little hope for their futures.
Also, Carolina, the Falcons, and the Saints are all jokes at this point, and Tom Brady will more than likely finally feel the sting of age (I know we’ve been saying THAT ONE for like 10 years now).
So, with the way we finished and with our Draft looking really good (don’t whine to me about spoiled 1st rounders, they’re a waste of hot sand), AND we’re 5th in EFFECTIVE Salary Cap space going into the off season, we should be able to lay down some absolute destruction to the rest of the NFL next season.
Meanwhile, both the Rams and 49ers have negative cap space (don’t ask me how that’s possible, I have no idea) and the Cards are only a few teams below them, with LOTS of Free Agents that they need to resign, such as Chadler Jones, AJ Green, AND James Conner, which means there’s a high chance they’ll lose those guys or at least 2 out of 3.
Cardinals Free Agents 2022 (See the teams at the top of this list)
Lastly, much of the rest of the COMPETITIVE NFC is also negative on Cap room going into the off season, such as Vikings, Packers, Cowboys, Saints, and AFC Champs (reg season), the Titans as well.
NFL Salary Cap 2022 (as of 1/11/2022)
There will be LOTS of Free Agents out there and we could be buyers in that market. Can you imagine us stealing Chandler Jones out from the Cards? That’s what you call a zero-sum (we win, they lose) gain.
And the 49ers, who will be bringing along their young pup at QB, should be easy meat.
As well as the FACT that we, not just played, but absolutely DOMINATED the last few games, with our guys (Russ) healed up, and with Penny’s rise, we are looking VERY VERY GOOD for next year!
Given our gains and those other teams eventual losses, we could quite literally be looking at the first undefeated 17 game season winner (don’t laugh) and the first of any season since ’72 Dolphins (who only had to play 14 games to do it)
You’re welcome, I just love this sh!t 😃
